I am using Outlook 2000, and my email password does not save.

For example, I go to Tools, Services, highlight my Internet Email account, then go into the server properties and underneath Account name my password doesn't save.

I type it in, check remember password then apply it and ok out of all the windows. Close Outlook and re-open it and Outlook keeps prompting me for my password. I know my password is correct b/c I had if verified by my ISP.

Is my Outlook corupt?

smah,

Thank you very much for the link.

Hi everyone.

I have encountered the same problem. I read through the link provided, however there's one step that I'm a little uncertain about. I use 2000 and have gotten to this point:

7. Click to select the user subkey folder, and then press DELETE. If other Windows NT users have the same password retention behavior, delete the subkey folder for those users also.

I'm a novice, but does that mean deleting all the subdirectories under the Protected Storage System Provider folder?

Thanks,
Dan

Nevermind. My assumption was correct. It works now.
