I cannot open http links in outlook 2000 on an xp pro box.

The message comes through as a hyperlink and when I click on it, the browser window (IE6 with all updates)opens but is blank.

The browser works fine, that is, I can browse the internet.

If I leave a browser window open and "connected" to a web page when I click an email link, another browser window opens to a blank page.

The address bar is unpopulated. I can hit "home" and it takes me my homepage.

Pretty stumped on this and, of course, its a VP's machine.

Try this:

Start, Run, regsvr32 urlmon.dll, OK. You may need to reboot afterwards.

I got it. had to hit the "reset web settings" under internet options, programs.

Thanks though

Hey All-
I'm having a similar problem... but different at the same time. We have Outlook 2000 running on Win2k terminal server with MetaFrame XPa.
If I author an email in HTML, and send a link to someone... it will work if it is a fully qualified URL, or a file link to an .htm file, but if it is a file link to a non-html file (.xls, .txt, etc) it doesn't work. It recognizes it as a link, and I can click on it, but it doesn't do anything when I click on it.
If I send the same email to another client on another server or workstation, it works fine. It's server wide, whether for administrator or a regular user. I'm stumped!
