Outlook 2000: confirm/deny sending Read Mail Receipt?

I am seeking the ability to not send a read mail receipt with Outlook 2000 / Exchange 5.5. When viewing Outlook's Tracking Options panel, the option to decide how to respond to requests for read receipts has 'Always send a response' selected, but the ability to select between that and 'Never send a response' is greyed out.

Is there a way to enable the ability to choose between these options?

Alternately, is it possible to set Outlook up to ask for a confirmation before sending a read message receipt?

Thank you

I don't believe that option became available when using an Exchange server until Outlook XP. I think in Outlook 2000 the option was only used for the Internet Mail services. joegz

joegz is right...this will not work if you're set up with the "Corporate or Workgroup" option on Outlook...only Internet (Pop). Only consolation is, if you haven't already done so, add the "Receipt Requested" field from your field chooser so that at least you know when someone is requesting a read-receipt.
