I connect through the web with a free T1 that the building lets me use. I have configured IE to connect through their proxy server but can not find how to configure in Outlook 2000 to send and recieve my pop3/smtp email.

Does anyone have any advice?? I have look all over to try and find how to change the settings but can't find anything...

Are you trying to retrieve mail from a different ISP or is the building proving you with an account.

Typically you should be able to retrieve mail from any ISP as long as you have Internet access however sending is a different issue. Many ISP's don't allow you to relay off of their SMTP server. Meaning that unless you are connected to their network you can't use their SMTP mail server to send your mail when coming from a different network. joegz
