latley in numerous accounts using outlook 2000 there is a delay in e-mail delivery both incoming and outgoing. The only time it works is if you click on your inbox- delivers the mail, click on your outbox sends the outgoing mail. OWA works fine, and if you reinstall the outlook works ok for a week or so, and than it starts with the edlay again-

I did and it seems that it is working. Since were behind the firewall I diabled the winxp firewall for few minutes and it was flying!!!
hmmm why the delay do you know?

So the problem was the Windows XP Sp2 firewall? There is a problem i read a while ago that the firewall blocks or slows down something with outlook. It still works but you would have to hit send/receive for it to do anything. But if you add it to the allow list for the firewall the issue is resolved.
