I recently took over our company's Norstar system, and have been busily updating various things in programming. My understanding is that we utilize a PRI &/or T-1.
I am able to login via Feature-CONFIG, and have used that function to name sets, change features, button assignments, etc.
My question is outgoing caller ID. Currently, our outgoing caller ID # is the direct number for our receptionist (extension 221), so when callers call back they get a direct line to reception, and then the general mailbox. This happens regardless of the set making the call.
We have a main number 999-555-1200 which I'd like to display for ALL outgoing calls.
I used my extension as a test, my direct line ends in 1576 and my internal extension is 226. I logged into programming and looked up my set, went into line assignments, and did a scan. found my line # to be 204, went into the details for the line, line type is PRI-A (i believe), and I found the OLI field. It had 1576 listed (the last four of my direct line).
I keyed in the entire main company phone number into the field, then tried dialing out. I hit 9 to get an outside line, and dialing any outside number resulted in a fast busy signal, so no dice. I switched the OLI back to 1576, and everything was back to normal.
I believe our system version is 3.0, at least that's what's listed in the software field along with a few other #'s.
We have about 30 sets or so, and 20 direct lines that are mapped to specific extensions.
Any help for this newbie would be greatly appreciated.
