We are in the process of sending our warranty calls out to an answering service for after hours and holday calls. Currently we have a 800 number ringing in to a local number (513YYYYYYY). If the call is during the day and not a holiday it rings to the receptionists group, but if it is after hours or a holiday I want to send it to the answering service.

If I set the Transfer action in VM Pro to transfer to the outside service (9513XXXXXXX) and all they recieve for the caller id is 513. They say they need a complete number so it does a screen pop on their end for the script.

I tried putting (9513XXXXXXXs513YYYYYYY) in the transfer and that didn't work.

At this point I tried a shortcode *19 and created it to dial 513XXXXXXXs513YYYYYYY and it worked great if i dialed the shortcode on my phone, but if I enter the shortcode in the transfer in VM Pro it just hangs up.

Anyone know of a way to set the coutgoing caller id when the call is being transferred out of VM Pro?

We are on a IP412 running V. 3.2(54)

Assisted transfer (Also blind transfer from 4.2) will allow you to set a "Displayed on phone" number. you may need to do this and use a shortcode.

SC: 8N
Tel No.: Nsxxxxxxxxx
Fea: dial
LG: 0

In the transfer put the "Display on Phone" as the CLI you want and put the transfer destination as 8XXXXXX.

Either of these should work on thier own but I have found with VM Pro that you need both to work 100%

you could create a new ARS with

?
.s513XXXXXXX
dial

and then create a user forward unconditional out to the specified number. Using the newly created ARS

the do a transfer action to the user. That way you are not tieing up your voicemail channels.

you could try to let the voicemail transfer to a User and have that User permanently forwarded to the shortcode that works, it might have more success that way.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

create a user wich is forwarded to the *19, and let VMPro dial the user.
