I am curious about the Out of Office(OoO) feature in Outlook... At the office we have Unity as our voicemail system (Cisco) and if you leave someone a message within the company and OoO is turned on it sometimes sends a message saying they are out. But in turn, during the test if you send an email immediately after that you get no OoO response. Is it suppose to only send one OoO response per person or should it send the response every time you get an email even if you get 10 emails in a row from the same person?

That is the difference between the OOO assistant and a rule:

Imagine you have set a rule, sending an OOO reply.
Now imagine also, you are only one of a list of recipients and you reply to all or to a distributive list.
One has an OOO rule set, too.
You'll send an OOO to one who'll reply "I'm OOO", upon which your rule will reply "I'm OOO" and so forth!

You'll play ping-pong with OOO mails and clog the server...

That is why there is an OOO assistant, which will only reply once per addressee.

Make sense?
;-)

Makes perfect sense... if you use the OoO Assistant it is a one time response per addressee.

Thank you!

If you have an Exchange server, then OOf message only goes once to a sender.
