Hi all,

I know this is easy for the gurus of voicemail pro but the penny hasn't dropped with me yet.

I need example of a shortcode that when last person leaves the office and hits *99 it first plays a messeage to user saying that night switch is now set. As a result anyone calling the main line will hear a messeage e.g. "You've reach company our normal business hours are blah blah blah" Then disconnect caller. When first person in office hits *99 the messeage plays "Day switch is now set" as a result the normal service comes into play.

I understand that a User Variable, a Set Variable Test variable is needed etc I just dont know how to do this, and how it works within sytem manager i.e. VM:workinghours etc. I need pointers.

Would be well chuffed if someone can send example or point to doco ... not marketing tools on line kb.

Cheers
peeps

I have done this with set user variable with two different short codes....Night ON and Night Off. Quite honestly I have found that using the Night or OOS feature with huntgroup is more flexable and gives you a visual indication that the "Night Service" is on. But since you would like to user set user variable....here is how I did it.

1: Add a User Variable called NIGHT or whatever you feel appropiate.

2: Create to short codes in VM PRO...call them Night on and Night Off.

3:Under Night on..add a set user variable, in specific, have the variable as NIGHT and set the value as true. Maybe you would want to also record a greeting saying something like "the night service is on"

4:Under Night off...same thing as above except that the value would be false and the recording would be "the night service is off"

5:make sure you connect the start point to the test user variables.

6:In your auto attd short code...before any recording... add a test user variable. Under specific, add the Variable Night and place True in the Matches Variable.

7: Connect True to the Night Menu action; and false to the Day menu action.

8:In Manager, create a short code *99 to go to Voicemail Node to the Night on short code, and *98 to go to the Night Off short code. When you press *99, you should hear the " the night service is on" and the night greeting should play. If you press *98 you should get the night service is off greeting and the day greeting should play. If you want to get really creative, add a menu action and it say something like to turn the night service on press one to turn it off press 2.

Like I said, i really dont like it this way because there is no visual indication. If you would like to know how to accomplish this with huntgroup.ask and I will tell.
