HOw do I save my address book with all the groups and information etc, to a disc, so that when I reboot the computer I have it all available for the new outlook express

Hi davoakey,

What about ..

File > Export > Address Book

.. and then ..

File > Import > Address Book

Enjoy,
Tony

Yes I try that, but it only saves it as a comma delimited list, and does not as far as I can see save teh groups

Hi davoakey,

Well, the answer is, it depends. If you are just using Outlook Express and not sharing an address book, you will have a .wab file which, on XP, will normally be in:

C:\Documents and Settings\userid\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

If not, search for it. You should be able to just copy this file out and back in.

Enjoy,
Tony

Thanks Tony
As it is on my c drive I suppose I will be OK as i back up the whole of the c drive on Maxtor back up system, so if after reconfiguring my computer, i re load the c drive files, the outlook express will auto find the address book, would this be the case?
Regards
Dave

I have never done it, but I believe so, Dave. Even if it fails you will still have the backup and be able to import from it into your new configuration.

Enjoy,
Tony
