hello, just wondering if anyone has gotten the CDR on the OTM to work. I think that i have it configured alright, but when I try to connect to do real time recording it keeps going to disconnect. I see that there is a data supervisor that opens but when i check the status it tells me that there are no data servers running. I'm not sure if I have to configure a data server somewhere or what. I have the rest of the OTM working but I just can't do CDR with it. Any help would be great

thanks in advance

what sort of software is out there? do you know the name of the software and is it for CDR.

thanks

1st check in the setup of the site and make certain that the tcpip is assigned to the cdr, telecom billing. Then check if you have any PTY's built in the switch ( 2 on OPT11C and 4 on 51C,61C, and 81C). Check to see if you have the PKG's need for DBA. Turn DBI to yes in the CDB under CDR.

Actually, I have been working with OTM/MAT for almost ten years and the CDR software in OTM works well - provided you get a tech who knows what they are doing when setting up CDR collection and building the telephone configuration. You can utilize the DBA function in the PBX or run a buffer box to store the data. The configuration is another story. That requires training.
Call Nortel to find out the top OTM installers/trainers. They have a short list to choose from. I have set up systems that collect 40000 records a day without any problems and the reporting is so good - it is Big Brotherish!!
Good luck

Hey Johnpoole what are the free software admin programs on the web instead of OTM.I use OTM and would like to see some other programs to compare.Thanks.

I think you should look at a breed of call accounting that is hosted by the supplier. You do not have to deal with all of that. Look at CommView ASP. Do a trail. It will not interfere with your existing OTM and see the simplicity of it all. You get the resports w/o the trouble.

Hey Johnpoole....could you get back with a list of the free software you mentioned here?
