I've been told that if you don't carry out a purge of the call data before it gets to 1Gb it can cause major corruption

Although the data is archived I've been asked to not purge the data, but I am a bit hesitant to leave it much longer and will have to persuade the customer to allow me to carry this out

Just thought I'd get some other thoughts from the forum and some tips on checking the amount of data stored?

Cheers Guys!!

What version of OTM/TM are you using & what's the spec of the server

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

OTM/TM 2.2
Windows2000
Service Pack 4
HPServer / 3.20Ghz / 1,048,056Kb Ram

Billing for 3 sites

Cheers!!

in all honesty as long as your storage medium is less than 70-75% full you should be ok. is your server partitioned correctly eg is your OS & min opperating storage reqirements partitioned away from all your CDR storage.
P.S its OTM at 2.2 & becomes TM at 3.0, Nortel thinks is now becomes easier at 3 but i think its still POO

Not a PC man you see, I'll ask the questions though
Cheers Scott UK!!

Yes, you need to purge and compact your call database before the CDRD001.mdb file gets larger that 1GB. This is because 1GB is the file size limit for Access database files. If you are lucky, you might just get errors when you try to collect records beyond this point. If you are not lucky, the entire call database will be corrupted. Make sure to do the compact after the purge so Windows will reclaim the space of the deleted Access records. Simply doing a purge will not reduce the size of the CDRD001.mdb file.

Thanks Telcomguy and Phones1

Any advise on how to compact within Windows?

As you've probably realised I'm not a PC guru and your ongoing help is much appreciated on the process.

My OTM 2.2 is running on Windows2000 Server and I make a point in carrying out Archives every quarter for the 3 sites copied within each sites folder. I carry out external backups to DVD and store these away from the PABX room.

Cheers Guys!!
