Can any one tell me if OTM 3.1 requires PDT level 1 password for the installation of software.

No, TM is installed on a seperate pc, you build pty's that will log it into the switch after you've done the install

OK, does it require it at any time, i have it installed and is running but is prompting me for a username and password to continue setup.

I believe that is your level 1 pwd for the pbx

tried both level 1 and 2 pwd, no go, i am trying to get OTM to complete inventory of PBX, i am on a 1000E

Not sure what Ver software is on your PC, but on NT or 2000 you use the same password that you use to logon to the PC.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I am already logged into the PC and tryiny to connect to the switch, via OTM, this install was not complete due to confusion on what level pswd was required, all pswds were tried admin1 and 2, what part of the system is it trying to connect to NRS,CS... i have tried all known IP addresses for switch followed by correct pswds and i have tried my network login, is it possible that a part of the install was not complete???surprise

For some instances yes it does need the level 1 PDT password for things like backing up the PBX. There is only 1 ip address you need and that is the ELAN address of the PBX. Is the TM server on a different subnet? If so you may have to add a route in the PBX

I am able to login to the TM server were OTM resides, and telnet into the ELAN address of the PBX ,it seems i can connect from OTM to PBX but tells me username and password incorrect?? and i use this password 100 times each day

It was the route, thanks for everyones input.
