Sorry, I know this is a bit off topic, BUT all my toolbox entries are gone, vanished. No Data,General,Forms items.

The reset in the toolbox->customize does not work.
I cannot add anything to the toolbox, it is dead.

How can I get my items back ?

I tried a repair installation, nothing.

Visual Studio.net 2003

Any guidence would be appreciated.

When you go to View, Toolbox, does the toolbox open? If so, can you right click on it and click on Add/Remove Items?

I am using the add/remove items dialog and it does not work.
I have tried the reset option too, no effect

Again, does your toolbox actually open? Any more details will help. Are you looking at the toolbox in Code view, or Designer view? It will be empty in Code view. Specifically, how are you trying to access the toolbox. As much information as you can post, post it.

Thanks for responding. Ok.

Design View, Porject is loaded, Code is loaded and displayed
in the design Window.

Select from Menu:

Tools -> Add/Remove ToolBox Items

Tabs = .Net Framework Components and Com Components

Option to "Reset" is at bottom.

If I add anything from the appropriate tab and
Select Ok then click on the Toolbar, I get the same thing
I had before which was nothing.

If I do a reset, it's the same result, nothing gets added to the Toolbox.

The Toolbox DOES open, but it is empty and the tabs,
Data,Components,Windows Forms are missing.

General and Clipboard Ring tabs are still there, but empty.

Access is via the Toolbox Icon at the top of the designer or via the View -> ToolBox menu option.

?????

If code is loaded and displayed, then you're not in Design View, you're in Code View. Try hitting Shift+F7 or going to View and then Designer to open Designer view. Then, instead of code, you should see your form. Let me know if that works.

Sorry, I was not drawing the distinction between code and
the form itself. At any rate no, it's gone.

I have deinstalled the app and will reload and see.

I have a demo in Canada in 48 hours and can't afford to
play with this any longer.

Since this is only an Academic version of VS.net and I only use VB.net, what would I be losing by just replacing this with
VB.net 2003 standard Edition.

At least then I could have support from MS which I could not get from them today. (No Warrenty service on academic versions.

Thanks for your help, by the way.

When/If you take more time to get this figured out please post what you did. I'm interested to know what's going on. I guess you've tried right clicking on the toolbox and selecting Show All Tabs?
If you're really only using VB, I don't think you lose anything switching from VS to VB. I've used just the VB.NET version only a little, so someone else who has used it more might be able to tell you better. Good luck.
