Organizational Units and Group Policy

I am setting up Windows 2003 server and 16 public computer lab computers running XP Pro

When I create a new OU under the domain and add the computer lab users/computers, the Group Policy I set for the OU doesn't take. I have changed the Group Policy refresh time.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you rebooted the PC (or run gpupdate or it if XP or secedit/refreshpolicy if Win 2000)?
