I think you may be refering to the graph tool, it will create pie and bar graphs with preset data. There are a lot of extra files included with .ai that have various useful presets. Look for a folder called goodies in your application dir. BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!
