I am attempting to upgrade to Exchange Server 2000 from 5.5, however when I attempt the upgrade, I receive the following message:
The componenet "Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services" cannot be assigned the action "Upgrade" because: -Setup has detected that the Organization name of the Exchange Site you are currently trying to join or upgrade does not match the Exchange Organization found in the Active Directory. To fix this, you may use the Exchange Administration tool to change the display name of the Organization and the re-run setup"
I've search this site, and keep coming up suggesting stating to change my organization name from Exchange Administrator. I open Exchange Admin and click on my site, then I click FILE > PROPERTIES. Neither my display name, nor the directory have any non allowed characters (only name of my domain) . Am I looking in the correct spot?
Walking through the agreements section I am also noticing something interesting. I have some screen shots from another forum and they are not matching up. Seems the USER agreement has an extra "wack" ( / ) in the name.
Where is that information being pulled from?
Reading more forums I am noticing there is a tool called ADSI Edit from the Windows 2000 Server CD (in the support section). I have no idea how to use this tool. Where "exactly" am I supposed to be looking, and what am I looking for.
Anybody have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this upgrade?
Thank you
Joshua
