Hi Sture,
I waited for awhile to see if someone could offer a solution. Because no one has, I want to contribute the following suggestion. While it is NOT a DIRECT solution to your specific problem related to the "server program", it still is a solution, and worth considering.
My suggestion is to first recognize that PowerPoint is NOT the "be-all and end-all" of "graphics" software suitable for creation of all types of graphic images.
PowerPoint is primarily a PRESENTATION package, with some graphics ability built in. However is is NOT a "full-fledged" graphics package.
The software package I have used extensively for various graphics images, including Organization Charts, Graphs, and other creative designs, is "CorelDraw" which IS a full-fledged graphics package.
The graphic image created in CorelDraw can, in turn, be embedded fully WITHIN PowerPoint, such that the actual image can be saved within the PowerPoint file, but yet edited in CorelDraw when you double-click on the embedded object.
If you haven't yet experienced CorelDraw, you might initially be a little intimidated by the huge variety of the creative tools, and it will take a little time to get familiar with these tools. However, it will be time well spent.
As for Organization Charts, it is extremely easy to create boxes and insert text, enlarge, reduce or stretch the boxes (one box or all the boxes), easy to move them around, draw lines, arrows, etc. CorelDraw has a "DUPLICATE" tool (Ctrl-D) which easily allows the user to duplicate any object or group of objects. Therefore, once you have your initial box, text and connecting lines set up, you can easily and quickly "duplicate" this to create your entire organization chart in "seconds". You can then go to each of the duplicated boxes and edit the text for each of the employees in the organization.
There are far too many features of CorelDraw to mention them here, but they are indeed PLENTIFUL, and very useful.
I hope I have at least "put the thought in your ear", and that you will check out CorelDraw.
I hope this has been of interest and helpful.
