When I merge an excell spreadsheet into word to create a page of labels (3 X 10), the finished document has them going across the page from left to right in order. Is there a way to make them go from top to bottom? I can rearrange the excell file to accomplish this but that's just a pain. Any suggestions?

niesiak,
When you setup the mail merge did you specify the Mergy Type as Mailing Labels?

If you do you can specify the label type and the fields you want to appear on each label and Word should take care of all the page formatting for the specific label type.

Hope this helps,
CMP

Hi,

Top to bottom, left to right can be controlled by Format/Columns - Number of Columns.

I don't know if it will work, but that's the route I'd take. Otherwise, Word only knows left to right, top to bottom.

You don't have any control over the flow. You can specify the order in which the label should appear in document by sorting or creating a list in that order, but the flow of labels in document will be default to Left-to-Right and then Top-to-Bottom.

Sharing the best from my side...

Thanks guys :) I tried the columns, Skip, but that just leaves me with one column and still doesn't rearrange the order. You're right, PGoRule, there is no room for maneuvering - it will always be left to right and then top- to bottom. Thanks for the input, guys. I had a feeling this couldn't be accomplished but I thought I ask just in case I wasn't aware of something :)
