Do any of you know the miniman requirements for oracle to run in a lpar?? 1 cpu, 1/2n cpu 4, cpu's .... 2 gb memory 4gb..
I need to plan for 5 separate oracle systems but will put them on one system with 5 lpars. If oracle needs 2 cpu's then a 550 won't work.
I also would like to know will anything run in less than a full cpu aix + app. I understand I can give a lpar a 1/10 cpu but I think thats after you already have a working system.
thanks for any info....

It all depends on how many sessions you will have on your oracle machine. For Oracle it's especially memory that's the problem most of the times.Oracle will work with 1 cpu, but if your machine will get an intense load, you might get into some performance problems
