Oracle restore problem 1

Hi,

I have:

Windows NT 4.0 SP6A
Arcserve 6.6.1
Oracle 8.0.5

Setup:

I installed the OS, patched. Installed Arcserve, patched. Installed the Arcserve Oracle Agent and configured it for SID 'TEST' and supplied the appropriate credentials (internal/password). Installed Oracle 8.0.5 and created a customized database named 'TEST'.

Problem:

I create a restore job using "Restore by Tree" and restore it to the original location. This server is named the same as the production box, and the database is named the same as well. I use the internal/password credentials the same as on the production box. I get this error: "E8601 Failed to connect agent (AGENT=\\servername\dbaora7@test, EC=Backup Agent Error -- (220) "Cannot find Oracle DLL from system path. Please set system path properly to include Oracle DLL directory."

How can I fix this error?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,

The First step before you attempt a restore would be to check if you are able to connect to the oracle agent installed on the new box.

1) Please go to backup window and try expanding the test database you have installed. If that works fine, then proceed with the restore.

2) Make sure that the Arcserve Server Admin user has permission on the oracle Directories where you are attempting a restore.

3) Since you are restoring to a different server, select restore by session and in the destination window, Drill down through the network and select the Oracle Gold Platter icon for doing the restore.

Thanks for your response!

I cannot expand the test database. Same error : 220 - dll missing

The arcserve server admin account is local administrator and NTFS permissions = Everyone/Full Control on the entire drive.
