Does this make sense or is this just a coinkidink. Whilest setting up a new server, we had trouble starting our application that listens on port 8080. Port 8080 was already in use. This server already had 9i running on it. While diagnosing, I stopped the listener. Whala, 8080 was free and the application started. Now when I restart the listener, it still works. Everything works. Am I way off in saying that something in 9i was holding that port open at first or was there something else going on that I didn't catch? Thanks all!!
