Is it possible for Oracle 10g running on a Unix platform to connect to a Microsoft Access database. I will be receiving 500+ tables from my user in an Access database and I need an easy way to load the data.

The Access database will start out on a windows desktop but needs to be moved to a secured environment before it can be loaded. At this point, I don't think I will have a Windows server to put the MDB file on so it would need to go on the Unix box and I'm not sure if that can be done.

I'm really new to the Unix/Oracle platform so any help would be appreciated.

Flunky,

Open DataBase Connectivity (ODBC) should provides you with same-platform and cross-platform connectivity. The fact that your source and target installations are on differing platforms should not be a negative issue that prevents your achieving your results.

Thanks Dave, thats good news. Now if I can just find a Windows server to store the MDB file, I'm in business.
