Hello,

(I'm VERY new to Linux)

I can't get a response from the: lsnrctl status
command or: lsnrctl start
I get the following error:

lsnrctl: lsnrctl: cannot execute binary file

Where am I doing wrong?

I'm logged in as Oracle. ls - l listener.ora:

-rw-rw-r-- 1 oracle dba

I really want to have some control over the listner to try and connect to the db:

Any help greatly appreciated.

What are the permissions on tnslsnr, they should be rwxr-x--x (chmod 751), according to our install. You should find the file in $ORACLE_HOME/bin

Cheers,

will check the permissions tomorrow (Australia time) - Hopefully, that'll fix it - Will update thread tomorrow.
