Oracle Hot Backup with an error 6...

Hi All,

At the company I work for we are currently running hot backups for Oracle. Problem is for the last few weeks I have been getting an error 6 on the main backup, not the individual one. Normally what I would do is to Validate the Archive log backups, which tends to sort this out, however it has made no difference. Also because of the backup window 2 backups run for this particular database since there is time to fit them. We currently don't backup the archive logs, something else that we thought it could be. Anyone got any ideas??

Bob that was of use, however it doesn't really solve my problem. Essentially breaking it down completely, I think that the problem is that the backup is trying to backup an archive log or another file that doesn't exist. Normally when I encounter a problem like this with a full hot backup of the an oracle database a quick validate archivelog all; seems to solve this. Any ideas?
