How to display graphically how many records been inserted (in %)...?
some kind of a ruler that changes color or smth.like that.

lets say, it takes a while to execute a query, or to create a subset of big dataset and while this job is in progress i want to show graphically how much of it has completed or how much has left... (smth. like chahging background color)

You may look at the sample progress bar from demos shipped with Forms (you may download it from otn.oracle.com).
