Hello,

I am having problems with the ARCServe2000 Oracle Client. I have a machine with Oracle, ArcServe2000 and Oracle Agent. We perform a backup with the agent I we get no errors. We make a restore in another machine and everything is all right, but when we try to start the restored oracle we get errors saying that files are corrupted. I have foun article QO19353, but it is about NT Client Agent, not Oracle Client. Anyone knows if there is any fix or any solution for this?.

Thanks.

Please check the following on your client machine that you are trying to restore the data to.

1) The Patch QO19353 is for a problem that is fixed by applying the security rollover patch of windows. Please check the add/remove programs and check if you applied the security roll over patch or not.

2) If you have the security roll over patch installed , then you should proceed with installing patches QO19352 & QO19353. As this problem of corrupted files happens only after applying the security roll over patch of windows2000.This problem not only happens with oracle files but also with other files which you can do a test for verifying the same.

Thanks

Hello,

We had security roll over patch installed in the destination machine. We have removed it. Now we have not it in either the source neither the destination. We have test it again and we get the same problem. Do you have any idea?.
Thanks.

what exactly are you doing ?? Could you please brief the steps involved in the restoration process.

Generally, Oracle Restore Process is of two phases.
1) Restore of files from Tape to Disk.
2) Oracle Recovery Procedure.

Please refer to oracle.pdf file for knowing more about restore scenarios . This file is present on ARCserve CD under doc folder.
