Hello all!!
I am in need of some information or help. I have a customer who's primary drive failed and had to have Solaris Re-installed. We were able to recover the RAID 5 Array that had all the /u Volumes.
The oracle binaries were installed onto /u01/apps/oracle and is still there.

My question is: Do I need to re-install Oracle on SUN or is there a method for when I start the install that Oracle will see that there are current databases and binarie files present.

Thanks in advance,

Was Solaris installed from a backup or anew ?

If anew - why ? - not a very good DR strategy :)

If from a backup you should be OK - providing the backup was 'correct'

It was from new. The customer never did any backups. Here is the breakdown of the filesystems.

/u01/ - Oracle app
/u02/ - DB
/u03/ - logs

Is there a way to re-link the app to the OS?

Alright!!! I fixed this issue. For those of you who would like to know, here is the process:

From the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory run the relink all command to relink all the binaries to the OS.
