Hi

I have oracle personnal edition for win98 , and I installed it . It didnt give me any error. and everything looked fine.

When I double cliecked on the Ostart icon in inBIn folder its asking me a password , I have entered all default passwords and it didnt work.

Am I missing something here or whats this error ,please help me.

What error messages do you get?
Did you read the docs?
Is it a supported platform?
Did you have it install a sample database?

Usually, if it did, you can use system/manager to log in...

Hi.
I never installed personal edition. But in all other 9i you have to change the passwords of sys and system during installation.

Hi

I dont know how to reset the password and wheer eduring teh installation , because all I did is select teh product which is Oracle 9i and teh where in my C;drive thats all.

It didnt ask me to set OR reset any thing.

More over when I double clieck on the Ostart icon in the Bin folder , its just asking the Password not the User id .

try: change_on_install

or read the docs. I am sure it must be mentioned in the
install notes. you may have to use orapwd to create a
password file first
