Hello mates,
I´m trying to install Oracle 8.1.6 on a Compaq EVO P4 1.8G, 72G hard disc and 256M ram, Win2k with SP3. When I run setup.exe or even I use the autorun, nothing happens, I mean, all that is java related in this installation does not go further than a slight apearance of the hourglass and jrew.exe quickly appearing as a process in task manager.
I´ve tried to install Win NT4 on this machine with SP5 and also installed a fresh Win2k with SP3 without using Compaq restore images: same behaviour.
I have a notebook HP Omnibook 4150 which is a P2 400M, 256M ram, 12G hard disc. In this machine, the Oracle installation goes fine, actually, I have two instances on it. Another notebook, a P3 800M, 190M and 12G hard disc can also install Oracle.
Another machine, a no-blend one, with lots of memory and running XP, did not installed.
Unforunately, there´s no further message on the system where I could find additional information.
If anybody has a clue about what´s going on this machine, I´ll be very appreciated to know it and also if someone can point me a way to gather logs from the system to see what´s going on: I´m an unix administrator!!
Cheers.
