i have three opx lines programmed into an option 11 and they do not ring in on phones they are suppose to, dont know where to look in programing to see if anything is programmed wrong

can't program one not to ring so i would think that you have a bad card, could be the slot.. have you tested those to the frame?

i dont know where to begin looking to see how if are programmed right as they come in and that they are being routed to right dn

i would start by going to load 20 an prt DNB what the OPX number is, TNB. Then prt the TNB in ld 20, See where it is ATDN at, the ATDN should be the extention of the phone you want the OPX to ring at. Are you sure the OPX's are reaching your Switch?

Are you using an OPX card or a Trunk card? What is the card model number?

Post the TNB here so we can see it.

After you changed that ATDN, did the OPX ring to the right phone?

I don't know if were talking the same thing here. All the places I have worked, an OPX line is a 500 set programmed on a Analog Line card in the PBX and the phone is located at a remote site or home. A trunk card cannot make a 500 phone ring.

what we are doing is running a dsn from local base on opx line into facility and they are able to dial out dsn but not able to receive calls in (line rings but not at set and will give a busy tone if line is in use)

What is a dsn?
What is a local base?

If your doing what I think your doing, I would connect a Analog station card to the wires going to your remote site and disconnect the Trunk line you have connected now, because as I said a trunk cannot ring a Analog phone.

Acewarlock, this is what i think he is trying to do, we have done this at some of our Units. and scottie please tell me if i am mistaken. You have your DSN (Autovon) coming into your local base, you then route it out of your base via your phone switch, to your other phone switch at the Facility. you have it going in as a cot so more then one phone can access that opx line. is that right?

SAW, almost except only 3 phones to ring in and out on the dsn lines, not everyone

ok when you call the DSN number does it ring your Facility PBX? call the DSN number and then at your Facilitys PBX in ld 32 Stat 10 2. also how do you have it programmed in your local base switch, could you post the TN of the opx from that switch.

The trunk card is probally set as a (LDR) LOOP DIAL REPEATING which will send Digits from a phone to the PBX when the handset is lifted. But I keep saying a trunk card cannot make an Analog phone ring. Program a 500 set and hook the TN to your OPX lins and it will start working.

OPX = OFF PREMISE Extension

From the NTP's
Feature description
The Off-Premise Extension (OPX) feature allows a single line telephone
serving as an extension to be located away from the customer premises. The
loop limit is 1400 ohms to the station or equivalent long-line circuit interface.
Distance varies depending on the gauge of wire used.
Refer to Nortel Networks technical publication Line Cards: Description
(553-3001-105) for additional information.

Feature description
The Eight-port Off-Premise Station (XOPS) analog line card (NT1R20) is
specific to North America and China as part of the Global Line Card program.
The XOPS card supports the current portfolio of peripheral equipment, and is
designed for use in Off-premises Station (OPS) environments, connected
through a Central Office (CO)/Public Exchange. It is also suited for campus
system environments. Each of the units on the card can be configured to be
operated as an OPS extension or in an On-premises (ONS) configuration.
The XOPS card requires a set of downloadable parameters for Termination
and Balance Impedance values. These parameters are downloaded to the card
whenever it is initialized or enabled. In addition, the analog cards require the
loss/levels to be set for each unit on the card using the B34 Flexible Level
message interface. ONS units receive loss/levels statically on Initialize or
Enable.

cant post other switches info (air force) but they have tested it for me and there is tone going to facility
