I was wondering if this happens to anyone else. I have my Require Variable Declaration option selected and the Option Explicit shows up for every project template except the VB Pro Edition Controls template. Has anyone else seen this or do I have a "buggy" installation? If you choose to battle wits with the witless be prepared to lose.

Hrmmm Happens to me too.

Maybe it's a bug program... what VB have bugs, no way... Craig, mailto:sander@cogeco.ca

Same thing happens with the enterprise edition. To fix this navigate to (on my computer may be different on yours) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Template\Projects. Look for the *.vbp file that says VB Pro Edition Controls. Double click on it and vb will open. Goto the code view and type in option explicit. Close the program and click on yes to save. Then open vb the normal way and you will see it. Also if you have a custom template you want to always open up you can add it to this directory (just remember do not overwrite existing files) and when you start vb the normal way you will see it in that same dialog that asks you for what type of project you want.

I Hope This Helps, Good Luck

>But its a bug un-exploited programming opportunity in the enterprise edition too

Someones exploited it... and gets the star for a quick resolution
