We are adding an Avaya call center, that will only be recieving calls through the Option 81C. Telco will be supplying a new local number, and an existing DID, which currently resides in the switch. I was informed that I need to provide a dual pri to handle all inbound calls from telco, then I will have to take the telco calls, route them from the Option 81C to the Avaya. I need to supply the Avaya system with all CLID info. My question(s):

1. Do I HAVE TO HAVE QSIG? I'm thinking PRI is the only way to pass CLID.
2. Is it possible to send CLID via CDP out a route to them?
3. Where in the NTP's is this provided? I've looked through the Networking NTP, but I cant seem to find anything definitive on the matter.

I wanted to avoid the Option 81C from handling any Avaya calls, just because I dont want to be the go between for every stupid issue they have with telco, but I have no choice in the matter. Any help would be appreciated.

been there done that. and i agree, the avaya is a pretty good K E Y System but a very strange thing in general. i would use qsig, pri will give you less headaches. not all that bad to software, i've got one posted here (search qsig rolm) that went in, try one, day one. i'm doing the same interface next month for a failover route. good news, the avaya will be total default, have the techgive you a print out of there switch and match it .. be sure to answer supervision no, you want see any from there end..

the good thing about pri is enl msgi x in ld 96 so you can prove that the digits are being sent... jm2

We currently do not have QSIG, so I'm hoping I can just send the calls over to the Avaya via PRI or straight T1.. does the PRI route require QSIG to Avaya and is it a necessity?

Thanks

PRI works as does CDP but without the QSIG you will have significant problems with caller id both ways and message lights. AJK

I am trying to accomplish the same thing over IP Trunks. My only problem is when the call is delivered to the AVAYA, the called party receives only the 4 digit extension of the Meridian PBX TN. They would like to have it show all 10 digits. I have my dial plan entries and gatekeeper entries set up for CDP. Is this possible?
