OPT 61 Rls 21 Problem

Hi Gents,

This is an issue for an old school Meridian Techie, my problem is that my 500 sets in loop 4 0 intermittently can't break dial tone (MF4), they work fine on loop/dis. 500 sets in 4 1 all work ok although they are in another IPE shelf, but interestingly they still use the same Tone Detectors and Conf/Tds Loops.

I have 2 Tone Detectors Cards in 4 1 5 and 16 0 6 (no 500 sets in loop 16 0) when you stat them you can see the DTR your using but it may work 4 times cycling through the DTRs then next time it fails, never the same DTR. But it never fails for 500 sets in loop 4 1. Both Cards have been disabled/reset. Both Conf/Tds Cards have also been disabled/reset as has supl 4 1 and its controller card. The switch has been ini'd but not reloaded.

Any ideas would be welcome, I've listed some traces below for good and failed calls. I cant determine anything from the Traces but someone may be able too. Thanks in Advance

Based on the age of your PBX, you might want to take a look at the shelf power supply, it may be getting weak. Do you have a spare to swap out just to try? Maybe swap power supplies between the two shelves during off hours?

Thanks for the reply, its a thought. Nothings impossible. I'll maybe give it a try, there's nothing else on the IPE except 4 0 so I could be done in hours.

Swapped the Power Unit and the Fault still exists, managed to move all extensions into a non affected loop but the Fault still exist on the original loop.

Change the superloop network card and or the controller.

You may also try rolling the Ring Generator in that Superloop to see if the problem stays or follows.
