I have an opt11c with a valcom paging unit connected through a port on my universal trunk card, the only way i could make it work on the digital sets was to make the trunk for paging a cot. now it works fine, but i have to wait a few seconds for it to disconnect the trunk, any way to make it see my disconnect quicker?

Thanks in advance

no if you have ndec and fdec set to eth then your doing good to not have it hang up once a week or more,, i build mine with a tfd timer to disconnect after 120 sec's, other wise it hangs around midnight on the weekend.. you can toggle asup to see it that helps but that interface has never been perfect

my nedc and fedc are both eth, i even tried messing with the supervison, i have it as yes but my sup. type im not sure about i used pip. dont know if it would even help but i just wanted to try it, doesnt help with that sup type.

that goes back to loop start lines in a pbx.. back when analog lines were all we had a 10 sec disconnect time was fast enough.. now 10 mil is to slow

any idea why when i access the valcom from a analog set it has a delay and my digital does not. i dial 8 get valcom tone then i dial a zone number and get a confirmation tone, and then my analog set has a probably 2 second delay, digital sets can start paging right after the confirmation tone.

timers for analogs are longer, disconect has to be longer then hook flash.. since you can't hook flash a digital rls is micro seconds.. after the switch sees the analog disconect it looks at the trunk side, that hasn't rls'ed so the switch starts a timer on that end.. one second later the valcom rls's.. the two timers, trunk rls and anaolg station rls combine to delay that rls... digital takes .1 nana second and tells the switch to rls the cot without a far end audit

even after the analog hangs up, the trunk could have been transfered, so with battery on that end.. it's a long process in the analog world
