I have configured two new 2003 servers to replace the existing 2000 domain controllers. All the necessary adpreps and forestpreps have been done but I am left with an odd problem.
By accident I went to the wrong machine and looked at the Operations Masters window and my Exchange Server machine suggested a machine other than itself as the Operations Master. This has made me nervous as I would have thought it would suggest itself. Is something wrong?
When I go to the machine that I actually want to be Operations Master, it does suggest itself as I expected. Now I am nervous about changing the Masters in case it buggers up.
As a follow up, if I down one of the existing domain controllers (but not the Operations Master), some of my Outlook forms stop working (even though Exchange 2003 says they are fully replicated across the AD and two Exchange servers (both Windows 2003) - the domain controller in question is not an Exchange server).
Are these two events connected? Any clues to calm my paranoia would be greatfully received.
