Hi,
Some of my acquaintances have problem.
When they opened some Word documents on client PCs, message below pop up.
"Outlook is retrieving data from the Microsoft Exchange
Server "(server name)". You can cancel the request or minimize
this message to the Windows taskbar until Outlook closes
the message automatically." (in Japanese)
At the time this message appeared, the ExchangeServer was powered-offfor maintenance. So it's natural that the message pops up if they were using Outlook on their client PC.
But the users who saw this message didn't use Outlook at the timeon their client PCs.
(They knew the ExchangeServer wasn't available that day.)
I asked them, "Didn't you really use Outlook at the time?"
The answer was "No."
Client PC
OS:WindowsXP sp1 , OfficeXP (Outlook2002 , Word2002)
We thought and imagined the reasons as below:
* The message above is related to Outlook & ExchangeServer.
* Word2002 may use some of the modules on Outlook2002.
* The documents might be in PublicFolder in the past.
* There might some events.(I didn't check the event log yet.)
I couldn't find any solutions about this phenomenom
on the web so far.
Thanks a lot for your help
