Opening Quark (qxd) file from MAC to Quark 6 in Window

We currently work with a graphic design firm, which uses only MAC, and all of our workstations runs on Window 2k/XP. We currently using QuarkXpress 6 and the design firm uses Quark 5 for mac. The issue is that we've been emailing a qxd file back and forward to have it open on our Quark6 and it has been unsuccessful. From what I know, quark documents should open from both Mac and Window (with exceptions some discripency with font styles). This is the error I kept getting:

"This document cannot be opened by this version of QuarkXpress. [16]"

Would appreciate any suggestions, thank you.

When you save the file from Quark 5 you have to save it as a lower version.

According to the designers, they did save it as Quark 4 format for pc compatibility. Still didn't work, I guess I would have to go find myself a mac and just resave it myself.
