Opening Outlook Messages from a folder

I have searched, and searched and searched... But cannot find anything on how to open an outlook mail message from a folder location, that is not within outlook.
How can this be done in code?
I need to set the mailItem object to be loaded with the Outlook Item, which is stored at \\server\folder1\0001\
Outlook Item = message1.msg


Any ideas? I have worked on this for quite some time, and cannot seem to get it. Any help, would greatly be appreciated!!!
