Here's my problem!

I have many databases and would like to create one central switchboard menu for the user to select a database to open, however I would like to open the database in the current Access session.

I don't want to have to open another instance of access and then close the current database down.

Any suggestions Please?

Cheers

Chris

You can "open" the other database(s) as far as the Tables and Queries are cocerned. You can "reference" the Code(Modules) in the other database(s). To the best of my knowledge, you cannot use the forms or reports in the other database(s).

Is this sufficient?

Sorry Michael - I need to be able to open the full database. My users are running slow machine therefore opening another Access Session with the database they require and then shutting down the menu database would take to long. I just wondered if there was a quicker method.

Regards

Chris

Well, I think that ESPECIALLY w/ 'slow' systems. you should do the open the 'other' db and close the "swithboard' db.

'Slowness' is often primarily a function of 'resources'. The more apps you have open, the more resources used. Deleting Apps should yield some speed up.
