Opening and linking other programs to my form

I am new to programming. I have a button and a text box on my form. After the user puts a search word in the text box, I want the button on my form to open Internet Explorer, go to google.com, and input the search word in the google search box. What type of action is this? Where can I look to research this and try to understand and implement it?
