open toolbars 1

Hi All,

I have a couple of ACCESS databases that I use. I have one that I do not want the toolbars open on (and it works fine when I have just the one database open), however when I have both databases open at the same time, both databases show the same toolbars open. I hope this makes sense and I hope there is an easy way to fix it.

Some more information, please:

Are these your own databases, or are you sharing them from a network?

Which toolbars are you talking about? Actually, I guess I'm really asking whether they're built-in or custom toolbars. For that matter, are they actual Office CommandBars, or forms made to resemble toolbars?

If they're Office CommandBars, are you right-clicking a blank area of the toolbar and setting/removing check marks to show or hide them? Did you know you can do that?

You can use the Tools|Startup dialog in a database to remove the check mark beside Allow Built-In Toolbars. That will hide all the built-in toolbars in that database, and make them unavailable. Would that be a satisfactory solution?

Hi Rick,

Thanks, that worked. I wanted the built in toolbars not to show up in one database, though show for the other one. I just checked the box in the startup section, the world is fine , once again.
