I forget and can't find the setting that allows more than one website to be open at the same time in IE, instead of the new website replacing the previous website. Thought it was in intgernet options/advanced, but only thing in there that seems related is 'reuse windows for launching shortcuts', but the block is unchecked anyway.

Can someone refresh my dead brain cells ? thx.

I usually just hit File, New, Window, but changing a setting in Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab and "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" may be of some help.

It is easy to do this. With one IE screen already on your desktop, just click on the blue "e" icon in your taskbar or on your desktop again, and another IE screen comes up. You will then have two separate Internet Explorer "pages."

thx for the replies, but not exactly what I am looking for.
I understand about having two ie pages open using the various suggested methods, but

One of my 98 computers (comp A) always opens a new window for each website I open, whether it's from a hyperlink, or from a shortcut, or from the address bar.

The other computer (comp B) replaces the current website with the newly opened website. I'm still thinking that there is a IE setting somewhere, similar to the Windows setting, 'open each folder in it's own window' (under view/folder options/general/custom settings).

Unless the difference is just that computer A (IE6)has a cable connection, and computer B (IE5.5) uses a dialup, (netzero).

??

but I wouldn't think that would matter...would it ?

No it wouldn't or shouldn't matter
fenix;
Right Click the hyperlink you want on the page you're using and choose "Open In New Window".

Check under "Folder Options" General tab in the A comp and match them over to B

Look in Computer A Folder Options- FileTypes ,scroll to these and jot down settings and tranfer to comp B
