I don't know how I did it but I was fooling with a jpg in Image Ready. I made a perfectly fine gif out of it but, weirdly, it left a psd file in my Pictures file that I cannot delete. I keep getting an error message when I try to delete it that says 'this file is being used by another file or program'.

I'm using a Compaq laptop running windows xp pro. Now I ain't no fool and I've done everything obvious to get rid of this, including deleting the gif, opening the psd and trying to close it out, alter it and close it out, change it's name, try to delete it in safe mode. Sheesh!

If I could figure out how to tell which program is attached to this file! So maybe you could tell me or share a similar experience and what you did. I run a tight ship and this is buggin me. Thanx TVC15

Did you dump the temp files? I had that happen once and just deleted all the temp files in windows and it cleared up. Happened in Quark for me but it was the same idea.

Kudos for Kyle. This worked!
