Hi everyone. I need to open a Crystal Report report from Microsoft Access Application.Could anyone help me on this?
Thank you.

In Crystal 8.5, you can export the report or the report data as Excel. Does that help?

Thanks for the reply. We discover that. However, this time, we need to do something else with some other applications. part of Our system is running Microsoft Access as the front end for desktop application. However, Microsoft Access cannot provide a generic crosstab report like Crystal Report can. Any idea?
Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look at it in a moment and report to you the result...

Brian, the sample application from the BO support site need crystl32.ocx which is not available on my PC. We are using Crystal Report 8.5 and Access 2000 on Windows XP. Tried to reinstall Crystal Report, no luck. I'll look for the control somewhere else...

Can't you use VBA and call the report the same way as you would in VB???

Patrick

What version of Crystal Reports are you using? I believ you need at least the Developer edition to have access to the crystl32.ocx.

As Patrick has eluded to, you would use VBA to call the report, the same as in VB.

Hi all. Thanks for the help.
Patrick, yes we have some applications running VB for the front end... and we are using crystal report for reporting... that's using crystal report viewer control and some coding behind it. We also have a lot of other applications running Access 2000 for the frontEnd. never thought of using Crystal report with Access before. Now that we think we need to employ that, I need to look for a way to use Crystal Report with Access.
Brian, yes, you are right. all this while we are using Crystal report 8.5, simply for creating report. NOt the Developer Edition. I'll get that and try again.

Thanks.
