Greetings,

I am creating a help document for a database, and due to the size (heavy graphics, about 15MB), I would like to create it in a seperate, empty database. My idea is to have a button on the current db, which when clicked, opens the help db (opening on a "main" help form...no tables). How do I code VBA to open the help db? Is there a more effecient way? Any help is appreciated...Thanks in advance.

My personal recommendation is not to use Access as a Help database. I've found several other tools available such as Robo-Help... Another option is to create the document in MS Word and convert to a PDF. Just a thought... SJM Steve Medvid

Thanks...I have considered using Word, but I find Access easier to manipulate. Just out of curiosity, why would you not use Access to create a help doc? Also, what is Robo-Help? Is it free?

Ok, if you are designing a robust commerical system use of an external tool like Robo-Help ( would be my recommendation. There are others out there also, but this was one of the best I've seen/used. You want the user to have the look and feel of other software help systems.

Using MS Access to design and support a help system is not efficient. Especially if u have lots of screen snapshots as u mentioned. but, if you are $ constrained, by all means, use what u must.
