OnUpdate funktion for MenuItems 1

hello,
i am working on a dialog-based application that features also a menue.

my problem is, that for each menuitem the corresponding OnUpdate function (where i can define enable *bla* or setcheck *bla*) commands are ignored?

i also just pressed the F11 button of the debugger, and that linked me direktly to a function called: CTestCmdUI::SetCheck in the WINCORE.CPP where -NOTHING- is written in...

who can halp? i want to dimm or to set the check sign in my own menue, craeted in a dialog-based appl.
