Ontape Backup Problem

When I try ontape backup using "ontape -s -L 0 I am getting following error.

08:37:43 shmat: [12]: operating system error
Server is in an incompatible state or user authentication failed.

Program over.

The Informix version is "IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.FC2"

Operating System: "Tru64Unix Version 5.1A
