I am new to 2000 and I have one 2000 computer on our network (NT 4 & 2K) that I only want to allow a dozen people to logon. What is the best way to do this?
Set up accounts for them in you local users and groups. Start-> Run-> MMC-> add/remove snap-in-> add the local users and groups. Then you can create these users and they will be the only ones to log on... Matt Wray

sounds like you pretty much run an NT network, so try this. Create you domain users as normal. then open up User manager for domains, then user, then select doamin. type the hostname for the win2k computer. (\\windows2000computer). You must use the \\. Once UMFD connects, then policys, user rights. Under the rights drop down box, find 'Logon on Locally'. Add each of your dozen users here, remove everything else EXCEPT 'Administrators'. Now only those dozen users should be able to logon to that workstation, and the local admin.
