i read the following in a bulletin from 2008. i have 2 questions about it.

Requirements for implementing one-X Mobile
1) one-X mobile is supported on IP500 running release 4.2 or above.
2) A Mobility license required for each configured user. It is the same license as the Mobile Twinning license in 4.1 and earlier.
3) Trunks that support clearing supervision required. Supported trunk types are:
a) IP500 Universal PRI (Not supported on legacy PRI on a carrier card)
b) IP500 BRI
c) SIP (RFC2833)

question 1: requirement 3a says i can't use a PRI on a legacy card carrier. is this still the case in 6.1?
question 2: if legacy carrier PRI won't work, why?

TIA

mobility will NOT work on a PRI that is on a legacy card carrier.

It will work but you won't be able to put a call on hold with the mobile phone like documented and thus you can't transfer calls from the mobile phone.
Receiving a twinned call on the mobile does work fine ( which will be enough for most users).
Upgrading the PRI card or switching to SIP is necessery if the customer needs the transfer option.

thank you. now can anyone tell me why the legacy pri won't work, but a new pri card will?

The old and the new card are different.
It is a hardware issue so you will not be able to solve it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

thank you. now can anyone tell me why the legacy pri won't work, but a new pri card will?

Because the Uni card has been designed to work with the mobility features, the legacy cards haven't as such you can twin but the advanced stuff doesn't work :)
